Yes I DVRd it (have a lot of shows on Sunday nights to get thru). It was a strong start to the season and tackling a timely and tough subject. I think season two was the strongest season so will see how this one plays out. I wasn't overly impressed with that good but overrated first season. And I'm still not a fan of how the show doesn't give any type of resolution, nor does it ever show you what exactly happened with the "American crime" of each season. But the build up throughout the season is always great. Its just the finale episodes are always problematic for me personally. (I know that is the producers decision to never give answers or show you the actual crime and who was actually guilty but it seems to be forcing the audience to watch in futility.

I haven't watched the season premiere episode yet, but recorded it and definitely will watch first good chance that turns up (hopefully sometime within day or two of now).

I didn't watch any of season 1 of American Crime, but followed all of last season and was very impressed. If this new season is anywhere near as well-done and interesting, it's sure to, again, be a winner.

Yes, Corgi: Last season I definitely was left feeling, after watching the finale, that despite the season having been excellent, that I still didn't actually know what had transpired regarding the crime. That was disappointing, as it's like reading a great mystery novel - but then reaching the final page and still not knowing "who done it."

Agree with the OP impressed that a major network is taking on these topics. Watched s3ep1 and the quality is still intact ... strong cast .. let's hope for a good season ..

IDK, I just feel like I've seen this all before...Prostitution. Drugs. A father searching for his child. People being exploited by the rich and powerful.

I'm watching. I started the first season but quit because I didn't like anybody. But, I do have it on my list to finish eventually. I liked season two event though there wasn't much to like in those characters either. I don't know why I don't have a problem with some characters who are serial killers and drug dealers (Jesse - not Walter) and am repelled by these people in AC. This season I almost stopped after the first episode, but decided to keep with it. It is getting a little more interesting. I guess I am so used to having at least one person to root for that I have a problem with watching an entire cast of characters that are so unlikable. I think it is because they are much more like real people than most characters in other shows.

True. It is real. It is also depressing. I think the first season there was one character whose life changed for the better at the end.

I watched Season 3's debut episode a little over a week ago, then just now finally watched episode 2.

I'm definitely liking the new season, and readily recognize it as high quality and well done. Admittedly, though, it's ongoingly heavy and very down-tempo, not to mention quite slow-paced, which renders it the kind of thing that you don't exactly eagerly await the next episode of with bated breath.

Please don't inaccurately conclude, from what I stated in the paragraph immediately above, that I'm someone who gravitates to fast-moving and fast-talking entertainment, as, trust me, I definitely am a fan of cerebral fare, that nothing need be action-packed or fast-paced about. Intelligent, smart entertainment is definitely my "thing". So what I'm speaking of in paragraph 2, above, is that this season of this series seems to be about a lot of depressed and/or put-upon type people conversing or expressing slowly, perhaps even mumblingly, meanwhile very limited actual action - which doesn't exactly make for dramatically compelling viewing. That having been said, I'm sticking with the season for the long haul. But I did find Season 2 to be more overall engrossing. This current season is just getting started, so maybe will pack significantly more punch as the story develops.

Probably so far I'm most interested in the young prostitute's storyline. Probably second-most I'm interested in the Mexican father's story, of him searching for his son.

Question: Regarding the Regina King character, is the man who she's asked to be her sperm donor her brother-in-law (a sister's husband), or what exactly? His son calls her "aunt".

I just binge watched S2. Wow! I was shocked and amazed about S1. Now, I am shocked and amazed at S2. It is obviously what can happen in true life and so tragic and sad.

I tend to like to watch a whole season in a few settings, so I may wait til this season is over before starting to watch, but I will watch it. It is great , thrown in our faces type writing. TV isn't very good and I am glad to see shows like this come along.

Something I don't understand, that was mentioned in Season 3, Episode 3, is that a male character of the farm-owning family stated migrant farm workers had died in dwelling fires there a number of times throughout the years and that no one had ever done anything about it. Or at least that was my understanding of what I heard.

So are we to conclude that, throughout the years - including after the most recent fire - that the undocumented workers just quietly were secretly buried in mass graves or however else on the property, with no authorities ever being aware or informed and investigating? Otherwise how could there have been fire deaths throughout the years, yet apparently there were never any type repercussions?

I loved the first two seasons but season 3 has been dull as dirt. I stopped watching after episode 5.

shtexas, the most recent episode (Sunday night's) was definitely the most compelling and intense of this season, and is a winner.

If you have the opportunity to catch it, I think you won't be disappointed that you did.

The Mexican Father left on a bus two episodes ago. The Pregnant girl is close to losing her baby.

Nemo, I'm current on all the episodes, but wondering whether the Mexican father character will be somehow returning to the story, since his arc already seems to have pretty much played out, and I believe there's now only one episode left.

Regarding the pregnant girl, her storyline will now be interesting to find out where the newest development (of at end of last Sunday's episode) leads things. I'm thinking that perhaps something about the couple she was performing for may get reported by them to investigators. Whatever the case, at this point things on all fronts are seeming very up in the air, with multiple interesting stories to bring to a close in the short amount of time remaining.

How would what happened be the couple's fault? I'm sure the Mexican Father will turn up at the end, that's a pattern for American Crime.
